25 Aug Celeb Central! Hangin’ in The Hamptons

I was honored to be invited to the East Hampton Library’s 12^th Annual Authors Night in August. I was greeted by Library Director Dennis Fabiszak on the way into the event, who shared the sweet story that I was invited because his mother adored The Charm Bracelet, and he immediately asked me to attend hoping that my attendance would finally spur his mom to come, as she has never been to the event since her son is always working! The premier literary event of the Hamptons has grown in its history to become one of the nation’s leading annual literary events, featuring authors across all genres. It was a fun, fabulous night, sipping wine and signing books, and very thrilling to mix and mingle with Authors Night Founding Honorary Chair Alec Baldwin and other authors including Gwyneth Paltrow, Christie Brinkley, Ina Garten, Dr. Ruth Westheimer and Dick Cavett. Personal highlights included chatting and receiving writing advice (and support) from the incomparable Mary Higgins Clark (53 books!) as well as Garth Stein. And best of all, this year’s event was the most successful of all time, with over 2,500 guests attending and the Library netting $300,000 for its programming.
